Timothy Risk
Architect
Tim is a registered architect and holds a residential builder's license. He has a bachelor's degree in Interior Design from Michigan State and a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Michigan. He started his professional career in Traverse City, and was mentored by a prominent local architect, an experience that cemented his passion for residential design. In Traverse City, Tim also founded a non-profit organization focused on ecology and education, and honed his carpentry skills restoring and building wooden boats.
After moving back to the Detroit area, Tim started a firm of his own and designed the first home in Oakland County to receive LEED Platinum Certification. He has designed and built several custom homes and home additions throughout Michigan.
When he is not working, Tim enjoys overland travel with his wife and dogs in their self built VW camper, welding, digital fabrication, restoring cars, global travel, and remodeling his house in Ferndale.
