For a couple of years we have been working with the folks at an organization in Ypsilanti, Michigan called Growing Hope. Their mission is to offer technical support and resources to non-profits and community organizations that want to use gardening as a way to further their social, environmental and educational missions. From its start in 2005, Growing Hope has grown to multiple locations and has positively impacted local farmers and residents by creating a central hub for people to gather, interact and buy/sell healthy, locally-sourced food. One of their most visible success stories is the Farmers MarketPlace in Ypsilanti.

Last weekend a motley crew of "Meadowlarker's" once again partnered with our friends at Growing Hope to continue to improve the building that houses the winter market. Using their drywall-hanging expertise our boys helped Ypsilanti Mayor Amanda Edmunds and Ypsilanti Farmers MarketPlace Development Manger Laura Gillis add insulation and drywall to make the Farmer's MarketPlace more comfortable in the wintertime.

A big "THANKS" to all the volunteers who came out to make the year-round Ypsilanti Farmers MarketPlace a positive experience - regardless of the weather outside!
